Should i move to taos

CII, I doubt that 10, is smaller than a small town; I live in a town of about 1,, though there is a larger town about minutes away. Isolation is one of the reasons I want to move. I like your idea of meeting a variety of people; I've done the same thing here, but so far, it hasn't been enough, partly bc chronic illness sometimes keeps me at home which might happen anywhere, LOL.

Speaking of which, how is Taos for healthcare? I think I could always drive to Santa Fe. Just looking online, I've found some cute small residences in Taos. I am looking for a very small house; downsizing is a priority for me.

Terrinova, let's get together. I can't really answer your questions. Have considered Taos myself now and again but I want to escape winter and snow and not immerse myself in it. To illustrate, I get sick for 2 days whenever I go up above even though I've lived most of my life above Each person is different so it may not impact you. The good news is NM is about as mold-free as anywhere. Updated: November 11, pm. I retired to Taos 11 years ago. It is like living in a Third World country. Believe me. I have had enough. I am a bi-lingual Spanish-English half-Latina. Because my husband was from Hungary, my last name labels me as Anglo.

I always loved Taos …. I always loved Taos and its people. Still do. I had trees planted to provide a wind break. They all died. The man who sold them has disappeared. I have had my fence smashed by drunk drivers three times. I have had four burglaries. I regularly call the police because drug deals are going on in front of my house.

Corruption is rampant in the government. See articles on theft at the Housing Authority. Electoral offices are traded off behind the scenes. Employees take Friday afternoons off even though they are paid for 40 hours a week. Try getting hold of anyone in government after noon.

Now, I am at my wits end. I bought an expensive tract of land in Ranchos and built a beautiful house with 2, square feet of living space, a double garage and a foot porch.

It took all of my hard-earned savings, but I loved the view and I loved being in a neighborhood with children.

I'm all too familiar with small hospitals and the problem of driving a long way if you're sick, but I'm not willing to live in a big urban area either, just a little bigger than where I am now.

I agree with CII; that wasn't the hospital's fault. Zoidberg, do you or did you live in Taos? Anyway, I'm trying to tune in to my intuitive processes to figure out what I should do next. Terranova, did you move to Taos or anywhere in NM Yet? I am thinking about NM also for the dry weather. If you did move, do you like where you are?
