What do raf gunners do

Started this job as a starter to a full time job in the RAF which didnt happen in the end due to other circumstances. Really enjoyed my time here met really nice people and everyone is so accepting of each other due to many people with different abilities. This job taught me so much around how the RAF work on the ground when in combat. Taught me about the rifles they use and how to dismantle clean and reassemble them.

Great experience! I have traveled all around the world and made some great friends along the way. In the military the pay is good and you do very little work on a daily basis, but when there is work on you can be under a lot of pressure. Pros See the world. This is a fun but challenging career, everyday you will meet new people who will then become your second family, also everyday comes with a new challenge, you will never no what challenge lies a head but you will always achieve great things from completing and getting past that challenge.

Pros Travel and get qualifications in things you didnt even know existed. Cons stressfull at times. Yes There are 2 helpful reviews 2 No. It's worth a try if your into getting disciplined and told what to do then do this job it'll show you a diffrent lifew it's definitely worth trying so give it a go. Pros good money. Cons long hours. Not every day is the same. There are many opportunities to be taken within the RAF such as course or adventure training and also the deployment you will be required to do.

Pros job security. Cons A lot of waiting around. There isn't a typical day in this job, every day is different.

You could work late days, or work away from your camp for a couple of weeks, but this helps you stay flexible. The most enjoyable part of the job for me was deploying on Operations, but sometimes it was the hardest part also. Pros Life experiance and job security. Cons Pension scheme and working away for long periods. Yes No There are 2 unhelpful reviews 2. Normal days work. Parade at for kit inspection and then be tasked out the jobs for the day.

Such as ranges, weapon cleaning, map reading, or role specific training. I learned to operate effectively in a team or alone and to work to your best together to achieve goals. The management was strict and hands on and would always help when needed but would trust you enough to expect quality. All the co-workers worked together to achieve goals and had the same mentality so that any tasks could be completed with a sense of humour no matter how hard the task was. Hardest part of the job was operational duty and the stress of potentially losing colleagues.

Most enjoyable part of the job is also operational duty, putting your skills to the test and helping people out on a daily basis. Pros Work colleagues. Cons 7 month tour. Yes There are 1 helpful reviews 1 No There are 4 unhelpful reviews 4.

A typical day at work varied between training with weapon systems , fitness and preparing for future operations. I have learnt how to deal with situations whilst under extreme pressure.

The best part of the job was putting all the training into action whilst on deployment and working closely with fellow soldiers. Yes There are 3 helpful reviews 3 No There are 2 unhelpful reviews 2. Demanding, challenging, proud of my achievements. I've learnt to be extremely flexible and patient.

I've had the opportunities to work in the most hostile and arduous of locations but at the same time work in some of the most relaxing and enjoyable.

For me the job was all about the man next to you and I will never forget or get to experience comradeship quite like it again. Want to know more about working here?
